Allotment but little done.

So we now have an allotment, we have had it cleared and dug over. My windowsill is full of baby plants ready to go in. A gent off the plot at the side of us is helping us get a shed, hopefully he will help us put it up. We are going to keep it organic and as eco friendly as possible (even though I do drive there and it's less than a mile away). Tonight we are planning the layout of the plot 22foot wide and 110foot long. God knows what we will do with it all.

We have not yet put any thing on etsy or folksy, but do have loads to put on. We keep looking at what other people are selling on etsy and folksy and get loads of ideas.

Tonight we are knitting mittens to send the a neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU) apparently loads of people knit hats, booties and tops but they realy need mittens as they put them on the babies to stop them pulling at the tubes.

Craft Fair and ..........

So, we went to the craft fair on Sunday, bit of a let down if I am honest we thought they would be more raw-met stuff but it was mostly final items. We did meet a really nice lady from Wingham Wool Work and we bought a few bits from her I got some brightly coloured wool to add (some how) to my jewellery. She was showing us all the crafts she had been doing mostly felting which looks fab. You'll HAVE to check her web site to see what else she does. She also said she had some workshops that were coming up, I am going to have to go to a few of them. I also had a go at lace making which looked so hard, there was a line off woman sat in a row with bobbins flying all over, really interesting but I think we have enough fingers in pies for now. Also ................. Jenny and I FINALLY have an allotment, woo hoo. Been trying since September to get one. We both went to look at it today, but stupid me forgot to take her walking boots and had to walk up to the allotment in high heels (my feet kill). Loads of work need doing to it. It has not been used in ten years. The grass is up to our waists we also need a shed and a green house. I did have a large vegetable patch in the garden, but the chickens ate most of it. We are going to keep it organic, and sell what we have too much of. We have not had our Tuesday meeting as normal, due to the fact it's Pancake Day and Hubby's wanted pancakes. Too Sleepy to think any ways. Taa taa for now

My Scarf & Off to the Fair

I forgot to post this the other day...I've been working on a knitted cable scarf and I thought I'd post a picture:
Also we're both off to a craft fair on Sunday, which should be good. It not only sells handmade items but also craft supplies. I get the feeling I may be coming home a little bit poorer on Sunday!

A Productive Evening

We've got quite a bit done this evening (well I think it's a bit anyway). This is what happens to my coffee table on a Tuesday evening:

I've made 2 pairs of earrings, which I'm very impressed with because I've never made any jewellry before, and worked on my tiara some more. Here are some piccies:

Therea's made a pair of earrings and a pendant & chain....here's a pic of the earrings (haven't taken a picture of the pendant though...):

Earrings on the go!

Well, Theresa's just arrived and we are about to get started on some earrings (I've no idea where to start so Theresa's going to be teaching me)

I've also been working on a tiara since we bought supplies at Hobbycraft, and I think it's coming along ok. I will post a picture this evening :o)

Bye bye for now.....

Sunday 15 February 2009

Jenny and I went to hobbycraft on Friday and spent WAY TO MUCH. But I did get a loom (which I haven't even opened the box yet). I got a lot more tiara making things, as the last one I made went quiet well.

Still working on my little boy scarf which is coming along well. I am still making a few errors in my knitting but I am now knowing where and what I am doing wrong.
I am going round to Jenny's on Tuesday for our weekly tips & fiddles group this week we are going to have a go at making earrings and hopefully get some photo's on here.

I have been playing around with the fimo tonight, just to start getting the feel of it. I have made some little figures for my son to play with. I really need to get a rolling pin.

We, Us & Ourselves

Jenny and I met in 1992 at an institution also known as Pope Pius X RC Comprehensive. In 1996 we went out separate ways. Fate, Destiny or pure coincidence (whatever you want to call it) took hold and in 2002 our paths crossed once again. We picked up our friendship were we left it and after two pregnances (one each) we noticed we had VERY little time together and we agreed to meet every Tuesday. And from that Serafina Blue was born.
